A Brief History of the Internet

Internet is an information systems architecture, which has transformed communication and interpersonal systems of trade by enabling different computer networks to connect. It also allows people from different locations to interact with each other through the Internet. Very fast and efficient, the Internet has enabled many businesses to expand into new territories and to reduce costs of production. At the same time, it has also made it very easy for people to share information and communicate to each other.

The Internet consists of a bunch of technology which allows different computers to connect to one another. The technology includes network protocols, computer hardware, servers, clients and IP networks. Sometimes called a network of computers, the Internet emerged from the United States during the 1970s and did not become accessible to the public until the late 1990s. Today, nearly everybody has a reliable Internet service at home or in their office.

Internet service providers use routing protocols to route data packets between computers on the internet. These packets include a header and a payload, which are both transferred in the form of digital packets (IP packets). The most widely used internet protocol is TCP/IP, which is based on IP networking and has been modified from its original design by Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) to bring high-speed, reliability and security to Internet users.

There are several types of Internet services. The most popular ones are cable internet, DSL, satellite and voice over ip. Most people know how cable and DSL work since they are the most common types of Internet connections. Here is a brief history of each one:

There are several advantages of using Internet services. First of all, this saves money because instead of sending information from one computer to another, it sends only part of the information at a time through the network. When two computers do not share the same Internet connection, they will be able to surf at different speeds. In fact, the speed of your Internet connection depends on how many different kinds of data packets are passing through at any given time.

When you are trying to understand how does the internet work, you need to have an understanding of the technology behind how the computers connect with each other to get to the Internet and back. It is important to remember that the Internet is a complex system and every individual piece connects everything else together. To get a clear picture, you need to have a working knowledge of how computers connect to each other to allow you to have an Internet connection.
